Promoting Wellness and Preventive Healthcare Services
The Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) a community health care initiative of the Community Development Foundation, aimed at delivering essential primary healthcare services to underprivileged and underserved populations in rural areas. The project operates across the Madukkarai Block of Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu to ensuring access quality healthcare for communities that face geographical and economic barriers.
Through regular outreach and mobile health services, the project reaches 16,000 individuals annually, significantly improving health outcomes and awareness among rural populations. Identified the diabetic other non communicable diseases among the rural population and referred to government hospitals for further treatment.
- Eye Care Program
The Eye Care Program was organized to help tribal communities living in remote areas get proper eye care services. Through eye camps people received eye check-ups, basic treatment and support for further medical care when needed.
The program also created awareness about the importance of eye care, cleanliness and healthy habits to protect vision. These camps helped people identify eye problems early and improved access to healthcare services in tribal villages.
